please try this patch http://lkml.org/lkml/diff/2006/9/7/235/1 (new VIA IRQ quirk behaviour change) and report the result. However I think you will need latest kernels, 2.4.18-rc7 or newer is my recommendation.
Thanks for trying to help me. Could you please provide a patch for kernel 2.6.18.1 ?
ftp://ftp.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/people/akpm/patches/2.6/2.6.19-rc1/2.6.19-rc1-mm1/broken-out/gregkh-pci-pci-via-irq-quirk-behaviour-change.patch
Thanks. I tried the patch, with no success. Still the same probe error.
Still present in current 2.6.20/1 kernels ?
Airbag, Have you tried newest kernel (2.6.22 as of today), is the problem still there? Thanks.
Natalie, thanks for the idea, but it's too late :-) (I now use a macbook)
Closing as UNREPRODUCIBLE for now but ISTR that this problem was fixed.
