Comment 1 Luming Yu 2006-03-11 08:47:44 UTC
Please post dmesg and lspci output with attachemnt. It will make things not
too big :-).

Please try generic hotkey patch filed at
http://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=5749

test brightness contrl by
echo -n xx > /sys/hotkey/brightness
Comment 2 Matteo Andreozzi 2006-03-12 06:04:40 UTC
Acpi hotkey patch didn't work on vaio vgn-fe11s, sys/hotkey devices are correcly
created :

total 0
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 0 2006-03-12 16:00 brightness
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 4096 2006-03-12 16:01 output_switch
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 4096 2006-03-12 16:01 output_zoom
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 0 2006-03-12 16:01 volume

but no effect resuslts when changing values with echo commands.
Comment 3 Matteo Andreozzi 2006-03-17 01:14:02 UTC
Suspend on Disk and on Ram also doesn't work on this notebook.

HOTKEYS: I also get no event on xev from pressing special keys
Comment 4 Luming Yu 2006-05-23 00:44:35 UTC
Please post acpidump output.

Comment 5 Luming Yu 2006-05-23 00:55:14 UTC
Please test latest vanilla kernel.

Comment 6 David Durrleman 2006-06-10 17:43:38 UTC
Created attachment 8285 [details]
acpidump for Sony VAIO VGN-FE11M

acpidump is from FE11M but it shouldn't really be different from the FE11S, the
difference between them is just in the cpu power and hard disk size.
Comment 7 Mattia Dongili 2007-08-19 00:26:01 UTC
This laptop should work with a kernel >= 2.6.23-rc1
Comment 8 Mattia Dongili 2007-08-19 00:26:40 UTC
ok, forgot to mention you have to use sony-laptop instead of sonypi
Comment 9 Adrian Bunk 2007-09-18 14:16:29 UTC
Please reopen this bug if there's still a problem with kernel 2.6.23-rc.
