Description Oleksij Rempel (fishor) 2005-12-19 15:03:55 UTC
Most recent kernel where this bug did not occur:
Distribution: Ubuntu Breezy
Hardware Environment: Intel HDA based on RealTeck ALC882
Software Environment: Alsa 1.0.10rc3
Problem Description:
This device have some options wich wrong configured or not yet aveilable:
SUBVENOR_ID = 1043; SUBDEVICE_ID = 8138
It's possible to cheng Headphone Playback Volume but this module provide only
"Headphone Playback Switch" and mixed with "Front Playback Volume" but they must
be independ.
It's looks like you working with multi-playback (great!!! :-) if i can prowide
you some more information ore tests i will do it):
lex@zwerg:~/Desktop$ cat /proc/asound/pcm
00-00: ALC882 Analog : ALC882 Analog : playback 1 : capture 2
00-01: ALC882 Digital : ALC882 Digital : playback 1 : capture 1

This device privide two Analog. , one for back Rear and one for Front Rear.

First, please update the ALSA version to the latest one.

Then, need more precise description about your hardware. What it is, how many
jacks it has and what is supposed by each, etc.

Preferabbly, it'd be nice if you know which widget pin node id correspond to
which jack. If it's unknown, check /proc/asound/card0/codec#* files, at least.

Alexey,
Let's refresh this problem - can you please test with the latest kernel?
There were lots of fixes posted for media devices, I know that fiesty has updates that let most of our problem media devices just work. Can you give it a shot, or just try latest 2.6.22-rc5?

Thanks.

Please reopen this bug if it's still present with kernel 2.6.22.
