Most recent kernel where this bug did not occur: 2.6.14 Distribution:debian/kanotix Hardware Environment: Software Environment: Problem Description:the soundblaster live 5.1 soundcard gets recognized as a sigmatel card with every 2.6.15 kernel i have tested so far. Steps to reproduce: do alsaconf and look in kmix
Can you please add the details of: cat /proc/asound/cards
0 [Live ]: EMU10K1 - SB Live [Unknown] SB Live [Unknown] (rev.10, serial:0x80661102) at 0xe800, irq 10 so the cat is okay, (2.6.14 with external alsa did the same) but in kmix the card is still recognized as a sigmatel card and the other mixer dont work right too. as far as i can see.
The entry for this chip is in already in alsa-git tree. Give it a try. It's OK that the mixer shows sigmatel. It has really a sigmatel codec as a mixer aprt. Please elaborate precisely how "the other mixer dont work right too".

The chip revision is already in the detection table, so it's no longer unknown.
I'm assuming this issue is already fixed. Please reopen this bug if it's still resent in kernel 2.6.16.5.
