Description Mans Rullgard 2005-12-10 16:22:01 UTC
Most recent kernel where this bug did not occur: 2.6.10
Distribution: Gentoo
Hardware Environment: Asus P4V8X-X board, 512MB RAM
Software Environment: Kernel 2.6.14
Problem Description:
Kernel versions 2.6.11 and later refuse to boot on my Asus P4V8X-X
board without the undocumented processor.nocst=1 option on the kernel
command line. Earlier versions work without any issues.

The processor.nocst options should be mentioned in
Documentation/kernel-parameters.txt

Kernel log with nocst=1 follows. The messages up to the point where it
freezes are the same without this option.

Comment 1 Len Brown 2005-12-21 18:38:48 UTC
fixed in 2.6.15-rc6?
Comment 2 Adrian Bunk 2006-04-22 05:52:41 UTC
I'm assuming this issue is already fixed in recent 2.6 kernels.

Please reopen this bug if it's still present in kernel 2.6.16.
