Description Antonio M. D'souza 2004-07-26 12:32:38 UTC
Distribution: Gentoo
Hardware Environment: uniproc x86 (K7) system with onboard 3Com NIC.
Problem Description:
When I was using the 2.4.20 kernel this NIC used to work fine via the 3c59x driver.
Now when I run ifconfig it says the hardware address is FF:FF:FF:FF:FF:FF & dhcpcd won't work with it.

Duplicate of either bug 1188 (if the "acpi=off" workaround works) or bug 3439
(if not).
Comment 2 Adrian Bunk 2005-08-08 03:45:33 UTC
Is this problem still present in kernel 2.6.13-rc6?
Comment 3 Adrian Bunk 2006-02-06 13:29:32 UTC
I'm assuming this issue is already fixed.

Please reopen this bug if it's still present in recent 2.6 kernels.
