Description Anno v. Heimburg 2004-07-02 10:40:59 UTC
Distribution: Gentoo
Hardware Environment: x86, AMD Athlon XP, Logitech MX500 optical mouse
Problem Description:
I have set up the mouse wheel in X as per usual Z-Axis-Mapping. Everything
works fine until I use my keyboard/video/mouse switch to switch to a different
PC. When I switch back, everything's there - except the mouse wheel. I loaded
evdev and 'cat'ed the input device. Everytime I move the mouse, a lot of
garbage appears, as expected, dito for clicking. However, when using the wheel
after switching back and forth on the KVM, it remains silent for the wheel.

This problem does not appear under 2.4 in an otherwise identical environment.

Dupe of bug 2082?
Comment 2 Anno v. Heimburg 2004-09-07 08:56:53 UTC
Yes and no. Different symptom (wheel stops working instead of mouse going
crazy), but the patch fixed it. Marked as duplicate. Thank you so much and
push that fix into mainline!
