Distribution: Debian Testing Hardware Environment: DEC Alphastation 255/300 (Avanti CPU) Software Environment: gcc 3.3.3 (Debian 20040401) Problem Description: Upon booting, the driver hangs the system when it should be looking for devices. I am unable to test whether this is Alpha-specific or not. 2.4.24 does not have this problem; I haven't had time to test 2.4.25 yet. I also experience this bug with 2.6.5 (new driver) but I think this is a known problem on 2.6? I'll try to provide whatever information is needed.
Created attachment 2605 [details] My dmesg for 2.4.24. I've noted where 2.4.26 hangs.
Created attachment 2606 [details] My .config for 2.4.26
After asking around on LKML, this seems to be an Alpha specific issue.
This seems to be fixed in newer kernels; closing this bug.
