Hardware Environment: Scenic Mobile 710 (laptop) with ESS 1878 audio chip (irq 
7)
Software Environment: Debian GNU/Linux
Problem Description: The sound card isn't detected by the sb.o (this driver 
run with my sound card and a 2.4 kernel)

Steps to reproduce: reboot the laptop and modprobe sb

Does 2.6.18-rc4 somehow detects it? Please post "lspci -vx" output for the card.

Please reopen this bug if it's still present with:
- kernel 2.6.22 and
- the ALSA drivers.
