Victor, your drive first reported medium error and then timed out while trying to read track information. Does this happen with any media? Can you please try a pressed one on a more recent kernel? Thanks.
Yes, with any cdrom/dvd copyrighted or not. Bug fixed in Linux version 2.6.39-2-amd64 (Debian 2.6.39-3) I've tried 2.6.38-bpo.2-amd64 (Debian 2.6.38-5~bpo60+1) and the bug was still there, but in 2.6.39-2-amd64 (Debian 2.6.39-3) it works perfectly. The only lines appearing in dmesg are: [ 116.814106] ISO 9660 Extensions: Microsoft Joliet Level 3 [ 116.894669] ISO 9660 Extensions: RRIP_1991A and I can access both cdroms and dvds copyrighted or not.
