Using Toshiba Satellite M645-S4050 and Ubuntu Maverick, kernel 2.6.35-14, the fnkeys work, but the temperature is very high. Also, when using modprobe, the toshiba_acpi cannot be inserted:

FATAL: Error inserting toshiba_acpi (/lib/modules/2.6.35-14-generic/kernel/drivers/platform/x86/toshiba_acpi.ko): No such device

Closing as obsolete. If this is still seen on modern kernels (3.2+) please
update/reopen
