Comment 2 Christian Kujau 2010-05-10 00:39:23 UTC
Michael Ellerman says this could be fixed in 2.6.35, see:

dmesg & /proc/device-tree with Michael's patch applied

2.6.34 & http://patchwork.ozlabs.org/patch/52978/
Comment 5 Christian Kujau 2010-05-20 10:15:47 UTC
Thanks Michael! Yes with your patch applied to 2.6.34 (vanilla), the WARNING goes away, so:

   Tested-by: Christian Kujau <lists@nerdbynature.de>

The only thing still there is:

device-tree: Duplicate name in /cpus/PowerPC,G4@0, renamed to "l2-cache#1"
device-tree: Duplicate name in /pci@f4000000/firewire@e/node@0023a409ee10b7a6, renamed to "sbp-2@c000#1"

...but that's a different issue I guess. Full dmesg & config & /proc/device-tree are in 52978.tar.bz2 I just attached.
Comment 6 Michael Ellerman 2010-05-20 13:52:11 UTC
Thanks Christian.

The duplicate l2-cache name is nothing to worry about, I haven't seen the other one before, but I doubt it will affect anything in Linux.
