dmesg

When I boot with 2.6.32-rc5 when kdm starts I get text color corruption and when KDE starts there are severe problems with splattered and smugged colors all over desktop. I would provide a screenshot but the saved image looks ok upon restart. It is so intensive that desktop is almost unusable.

With 2.6.32-rc3 and 2.6.31.4 there are no problems.

xserver version: 1.7.0.901
OpenGL renderer string: Mesa DRI Intel(R) 965GM GEM 20090712 2009Q2 RC3
OpenGL version string: 2.1 Mesa 7.6
xf86-video-intel 2.9.0
distribution: Arch Linux

I'm attaching xorg.log and dmesg but as far as I can see nothing suspicious there...

On the same configuration and packages this issue doesn't appear with gnome desktop. Could be a KDE related bug so I guess this bug report could be closed now.

Ok, I have some more information.

It seems to be related with the version of xserver. With 1.6.4RC there are no problem with graphics corruption regardless of kernel version.

With xserver 1.7 and 1.7.1 corruption reappears but only with 2.6.32-rc5 - with 2.6.31.5 everything works just fine.

Patched xf86-video-intel fixed the issue.
