In previous versions of the Linux kernel (2.6.27 and up), the nvidia drivers worked well and no problems occurred. However, since moving onto any version of the 2.6.30 kernel, new windows will open as black boxes when a composition manager is enabled. This bug appeared once before in the early nVidia drivers, and occurred then when the drivers ran out of video memory. Will this be due to changes in the kernel that the nVidia drivers require modification to work under?
not really anything we can do, try latest stable kernel otherwise contact the driver vendor.
OK, thanks for the quick reply. I'll forward the bug to nVidia.
