Problem Description: The laptop has 2 speakers on top, and one "subwoofer" under. Only the two speakers on top are working in linux, the subwoofer never worked. But with proprietary drivers, in Windows, the subwoofer is working.

Here are additional websites refering to the same problem.

I beg for your indulgence, as this is my first bug report. If any relevant info is missing, I'll quickly and gratefully add it.

I am now using the kernel 2.6.29.1-3 from archlinux, and it works, the subwoofer is back. I don't know if the change is related to my bug report, but if so, thanks a lot.

Actually, thanks a lot anyway!

Jordan

p.s. Shall I mark this a resolved since I don't know if its the archlinux version wich enabled it or the stock kernel works.

Linux 2.6.31-14-generic #48-Ubuntu SMP Fri Oct 16 14:04:26 UTC 2009 i686 GNU/Linux.
