Latest working kernel version: none Earliest failing kernel version: all Distribution: openSUSE / All Hardware Environment: x86 Lucent Agere ORiNOCO wireless card Software Environment: openSUSE / GNOME Problem Description: The orinoco_cs driver is not WPA capable. As it appears Agere did offer one one their website, alas it only did compile with very old kernels. Now some folks at http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=304217&page=10 fixed that. I suggest either the existing orinoco_cs is fixed or else the WPA capable one is added. Steps to reproduce: not applicable
Patches to enable WPA for orinoco based cards have been posted to linux-wireless (and orinoco-devel). <http://marc.info/?l=linux-wireless&m=121767209226300>
I have queued (updated versions of) the patches from comment 1 for eventual inclusion in 2.6.28.
These were merged in the 2.6.28-rc1 merge window...
