Description Beat Wolf 2008-05-05 12:59:04 UTC
Latest working kernel version: ?
Earliest failing kernel version: 2.6.22, probably earlier
Distribution: ubuntu, open-suse
Hardware Environment: hp pavilion ze4900 with a Hauppauge WinTV-USB III (PAL) with FM radio Model 568
Software Environment:
Problem Description: When changing tv channel with xawtv (other tv applications are not even able to show a image with this tv card), the computer locks ups completely, with the keyboard flashing. There is no indication in any log what happend. I think it's a kernel panic.

Steps to reproduce: Open xawtv with the mentioned usb tv card, and change channels during some time, the kernel panic will happen sooner or later. If kopete is installed, open kopete and go into the preferences and there in the webcam tab, the crash should happen immediately.

I could reproduce this bug on:
Kubuntu 7.10 (kernel 2.6.22)
Kubuntu 8.04 (kernel 2.6.24)
Kubuntu 8.04, with custom compiled 2.6.25-git13 kernel
Open-suse 10.3

If any other information is needed, i would be happy to provide it.
Steps to reproduce:
