(In reply to comment #0) > Latest working kernel version: 2.6.24 rc3 > Earliest failing kernel version: 2.6.24 rc4 > Distribution: crux > Backlightcontrol doesn't work anymore. > FN+ You mean the brightness switch hokkey doesn't work any more, right? Please attach the dmesg and acpidump output. You can get the latest pmtools at: http://www.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/people/lenb/acpi/utils/ > You mean the brightness switch hokkey doesn't work any more, right? yes my dmesg output: http://ecarux.de/files/misc/dmesg.txt acpidump: http://ecarux.de/files/misc/acpidump.txt Sorry, its my first bug report. Nothing changed in ACPI video driver between rc3 and rc4. Could you please do a git bisect to find which patch cause the problem please? Please refer to http://www.kernel.org/pub/software/scm/git/docs/git-bisect.html Hi, hannes, please look at bug #9663 and see if the solution there can work for you. Hi, Hannes Will you please try the patch in comment #8 of bug 9627 and see whether backlingt can work ? (Please test it on the 2.6.24-rc4 kernel ). Please attach the output of dmesg. It will be great if you can enable the ACPI debug in kernel configuration and add the boot option of "acpi.debug_layer=0x08010004 acpi.debug_level=0x1f".(Had better apply the patch from comment 28 bug 9642). thanks. no response for a month please re-open if this is still a problem with 2.6.25-rc6 or later |
