Hardware Environment: x86, amd atlhon 2400+

Software Environment: alsa-lib-1.0.14a

Problem Description: there is already an old report that seens to be the same problem: http://www.uwsg.iu.edu/hypermail/linux/kernel/0409.1/1335.html

jack only works in 'playback' mode, none 'duplex' or 'capture' works.

from dmesg, things like (for jack):
vortex: IRQ fifo error

(from audacity):
Vortex: vortex_fifo_setadbctrl fail

Steps to reproduce: always;

The 4Front OSS driver (now GPL) is working OK.
The driver is implemented in:

oss-v4.0-build1008-src-gpl/kernel/drv/vortex/vortex2.c

inside 4Front OSS source code.

I can do full duplex (capture and play) ok, and jack works ok too.
