dmidecode output
Made additional experiments and booting with usb legacy support disabled and with irqpoll option seems to work. With legacy usb keyboard support and irqpoll option booting fails (irq 11 nobody cared and then sata drives stop working). Without irqpoll and with legacy usb support booting fails with irq 18 nobody cared and loss of sata drives. Also tried pci=noacpi but that didn't do anything. Writing down the exact error messages is really hard because sata errors keep filling up the screen. Turns out that orginal bios was revision 10, downgraded to revision 14 and acpi works, also achi, but this pile of crap won't post with usb keyboard attached. Will attach working acpidump. And note for everyone, don't buy Abit AB9 (pro) motherboards, the bios has bug after bug... Created attachment 12028 [details]
acpidump of working bios revision 14
thanks for the acpidump, please include the matching complete dmesg and /proc/ingterrupts. But as BIOS 14 works, what we really want is the acpidump when booted with BIOS 19. please boot with acpi=off on BIOS 19 and collect the acpidump for that. Also, we'll need lspci -vv. If you can capture the serial console for the boot failure, that would be ideal. The first acpidump is from bios revision 19 (http://bugzilla.kernel.org/attachment.cgi?id=12021) same for dmidecode output. I will provide additional information next weekend. /proc/interrupts from bios revision 19
Unfortunately I'm unable to capture output from boot with bios revision 19 via serial terminal, as I don't have a serial cable nor a second computer with serial port (my laptop doesn't have serial ports). New bios from abit (revision 20) seems to fix acpi issues and even executes the achi-bios, will test the new bios further and close this if it is stable. Bios revision 20 fixes all my problems and it seems to be stable, so I'm closing this. |
