Has this issue always existed with every revision of the kernel.org kernel, or is this a regression that was not seen in earlier kernels? please attach your .config here In particular, are you running the IBM_ACPI or ACPI_VIDEO modules, and do you run them with fedora's kernel? Firstly thanks very much for watching me as a kernel bug reporter : ) And the bug I reported did not appeared in the earlier revisions of kernels on kernel.org until 2.6.19,so I compiled 2.6.20.4 kernel from source certainly has that ACPI bug I reported. And I am sure that I am running *IBM_ACPI* module and *VIDEO* module inside Fedora Core 6's kernel. Thank you again! *Note* config file of 2.6.20.4 kernel attached. Firstly thanks very much for watching me as a kernel bug reporter : )
And the bug I reported did not appeared in the earlier revisions of
kernels on kernel.org until 2.6.19,so the compiled 2.6.20.4 kernel from source
certainly has that ACPI bug I reported.
And I am sure that I am running *IBM_ACPI* module and *VIDEO*
module inside Fedora Core 6's kernel.
Thank you again!

It is very simple to check if this is due to acpi by booting kernel with acpi=off, and check if the problem persists. Hi, Pip, Does this still exists in the latest kernel release? Please do the same test without ibm_acpi or thinkpad_acpi driver loaded.
