Description b_koepke 2006-07-27 18:13:48 UTC
Most recent kernel where this bug did not occur:
Distribution:Gentoo (2006.0)
Hardware Environment:Acer Aspire 5002WLMI (sis760gx chipset)
Software Environment:Linux
Problem Description:suspend to ram does not work at all (cat /var/log/messages
is empty beyond hibernate-ram command) normally have to use vbetool which works
fine. The computer goes down for s3 and powers down normally, it then attempts
to wake up but never does (blank screen empty log files no lights exept for
power). (possibly DMA problem, hd not waking up).
kernel sources less than 2.6.17 work flawlessly, same configuration with 2.6.17
fails.

Steps to reproduce:
use hibernate-ram with hibernate-script (not suspend2 sources, doesn't matter if
in or not) with sis760gx chipset.
I will post more information ( log files ) if requested. (I have no Idea even
where to start)
should note it is amd64
