sata hotplug isn't actually implemented yet. With luck we'll have it in 2.6.18, so your testing of the 2.6.18-rcN series would be appreciated. Only warm plug is supported by this hardware the behaviour is expected. You should now (2.6.20) be able to tell the kernel to remove the drive, pull it and then replace it, and tell the kernel to rescan (as with scsi devices). You may need ACPI scripts to run the right ACPI method for unplugging/dock support for this too |
