If you view the log posted here: http://www.linuxkidd.com/c3500/1.3/dmesg_DEBUG_BOTH_1.3.txt you'll see lots of debugging messages from ohci-hcd and ehci-hcd indicating that various device registers contain 0xaaaaaaaa or something similar. This clearly indicates that the actual values aren't getting read. Either the memory mapping isn't set up correctly, or some PCI or bridge setting isn't properly initialized. does this work better with "acpi=off"? acpi=off and acpi=off pci=biosirq options tried. dmesg and lspci -vvxxx output added to http://www.linuxkidd.com/c3500 under the v1.3 bios section. Neither PCMCIA nor USB function with these new options. Michael, do you have any chance to test latest kernel on this device to see if the issue is still valid? Unfortunately, I sold the laptop about 2 months ago. I could have access to it sometime in the future, but it will probably be after the new year (2008). I will follow up with some forums where this was discussed earlier and see if anyone is still trying. A few more links: Someone elses info on this problem. http://www.steyla.com/averatec.html TabletQuestions.com thread on the subject. I have posted a request for others to test the latest kernel in this thread. It has however been dead for a while, so I'm not expecting a rapid response. http://www.tabletquestions.com/tablet-pc-averatec/4170-linux-averatec-c3500.html I have to invalidate this bug due to insufficient response from bug reporters.. please reopen when there are active users.. thanks. I tried to install Ubuntu 8.04, Knoppix 5 and Famelix 2.0 No resoults, USB and PCMCIA fail to inicialize; the Touch Screen didn't work Bios .1h and 1.3 Daniel |
