Software Environment: mplayer
Problem Description: In 2.6.15, the laptop internal speakers don't mute when
headphones are plugged in.  In 2.6.16-rc1, the internal speakers are never on,
but there is output on the headphone jack.

this seems to have been fixed around 2.6.17 or so.
