Description Mauro Sacchetto 2006-01-14 17:44:41 UTC
Most recent kernel where this bug did not occur: 2.6.14.3
Distribution: Slackware 10.2
Hardware Environment: Intel HDA based on RealTeck ALC882
Software Environment: Alsa 1.0.11rc3
Problem Description: It's impossible to obtain a configuration of sound card
hda_intel based on RealTeck ALC882. If I use alsadriver, the card is found, but
I'm not able to configure it. Alsaconf seems to work, but if I launch alsamixer,
I obtain: "/usr/sbin/alsactl: set_control:873: failed to obtain info for control
#1 (Invalid argument)
". The same if I put the support in the kernel. In consequence on this, KDE
tells me that it's impossible to find /dev/dsp, even if it does exist! So pc is
mute.

Steps to reproduce: launch alsamixer

Is this bug also happening in 2.6.15 or 2.6.16-rc5 or just in the rc3 alsa release?
Comment 2 Mauro Sacchetto 2006-02-27 06:54:29 UTC
I found this bug in the last releases of 2.6.15.
now I've 2.6.16-rc1 and all works fine. I'll try
as soon as possible the last rc relase and I'll
give you notice. Thanx
