Bug 5883

Summary: PCI: Cannot allocate resource region (Motherboard: Epox 9HEAI - VIA K8T890 chipset)
Product: ACPI Reporter: Halgeir Rennehvammen (halgeirr)
Component: Config-TablesAssignee: acpi_config-tables
Status: REJECTED DUPLICATE
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Hardware: i386
OS: Linux
Kernel Version: 2.6.15 Subsystem:
Regression: --- Bisected commit-id:

Description Halgeir Rennehvammen 2006-01-13 07:21:07 UTC
When booting the kernel reports the error:

PCI: Cannot allocate resource region 8 of bridge 0000:00:02.0
PCI: Cannot allocate resource region 8 of bridge 0000:00:03.0
PCI: Cannot allocate resource region 8 of bridge 0000:00:03.1
PCI: Cannot allocate resource region 8 of bridge 0000:00:03.2
PCI: Cannot allocate resource region 8 of bridge 0000:00:03.3

The system seems stable and okay so far. But it would be great if it was solved.
What is "resource region 8"?

lspci command also don't recognize one bridge:
"00:01.0 PCI bridge: VIA Technologies, Inc. Unknown device b999 (prog..."

The motherboard have 1 x PCI-E x16, 2 x PCI-E x1 and 3 PCI bridges.

I have tried the motherboard on the 2.6.14 kernel with same results.

Distribution: gentoo linux using original kernel from kernel.org.

South]

I'm new to the bug thing, if you need in my system email me, if you have a
command for me to run i will :)

Oh AND I am gentoo, not sure but that is another similarity...
