Why is this bug filed in the ACPI category? Will you please attach the output of acpidump, dmesg, /proc/interrupts? Thanks. i reasoned it is acpi because at grub bootscreen when i give acpi=off as a kernel boot parameter, the usb keyboard/mouse sluggishness and problems are gone. im ofcourse not a programmer, so i cant really tell. thats the place where i ended up in my bug hunting, and its all written in the novell bugreport above. will try to supply the acpidump and other things as well, but in the novell bugreport, there are plenty of attachments, logs and everything already. please see those attachments of the various kernels booting. i have already attached all kinds of information that seems useful. novell bugzilla is readable and attachments are downloadable publically. hello. i have updated the opensuse/novell bugzilla entry there. to make it short: this bug doesnt appear on this very same hardware any more, although i am dead sure that i havent changed a bit on my hardware setup (testsystem) and i have tried to reproduce the usb bugs with all kinds of various usb keyboard/mouse combinations and reinstalling opensuse 11.0 and 11.1 all over a great many times and variations. i have still created the acpidump messages and lots of more logfiles, maybe somebody could compare these new logs to my early logs any see if there are any differences in behaviour. basically this testsystem was just sitting turned off under the desk for a week or two, and now i dont see these usb problems any more. system boots up fine even without any additional acpi= parameters at all. thanks and regards. this bug is closed because it can not be reproduced any more sorry for the annoyance, but i really had hoped somebody of the specialists would at least compare my early logs that i definitely created during the usb problems to my last logs that i added here on the kernel bugzilla. i am not insane yet and i didnt create the initial bugreport at opensuse/novell because i have too much spare time or out of insanity. maybe somebody could still track down the reason for the usb problems and make use of these logs and information that i have provided. anyways. regards. |
