I have just tried 2.6.27-rc2 and as expected the bug is present there, too.

Just to be sure - do you turn *off* "Audigy Analog/Digital Output Jack"?
For analog outputs, this must be off.
In the former versions, this switch was wrongly detected.

Ugh, that was the cause. When I turn this switch off everything works
fine with 2.6.26.2 and 2.6.27-rc2. I did not know this switch and had
previously only tried to change the volume sliders in alsamixer, sorry.
