Latest working kernel version: ?
Earliest failing kernel version: ?
Distribution: Ubuntu 8.04
Hardware Environment: Acer TravelMate 662

Problem Description: Sometimes when I plug a USB scanner into my laptop it resets an already attached (and used) USB harddisk.

Steps to reproduce:
* Start USB HDD (self powered)
* Start a "badblocks -v <DEVICE>" on this harddisk
* Plug in and out USB scanner (host powered) several times
* Occasionally a USB reset occurs on the HDD. The HDD changes its device and badblocks returns errors from this point on.

Should be fixed in 2.6.30. If not, please let the developers at linux-usb@vger.kernel.org know about it.
