oh - ticket without further progress for some months ;)
anyway - does this problem still apply?

does that also happen with an external, ordinary ps/2 mouse ?
how does the system behave besides that? is it sluggish as a whole ?
how does it perform?
if you do a compile run under control of the old kernel and under the new kernel - does the time needed for that differ noticeably ?
trying nohz=on|off shouldn`t make a difference since it seems you didn`t compile in dynticks feature - but what about hpet=disable ?
any chance for test with recent kernel ? (2.6.25 or 2.6.26rc to see if this makes a difference ?
just some ideas - for the moment we don`t have enough information to see if it really is a kernel issue at all.....
